Cara Delevingne to Host Upcoming Sexuality-Focused Documentary on Hulu
LGBTQ+ advocate and all-around renaissance woman Cara Delevingne is adding a new entry to her ever-growing resumé as host of an upcoming documentary series on sexuality and relationships.
Delevingne is currently in the final stages of securing a deal with Hulu and BBC Three that will see her lead us through a six-part documentary tentatively titled “Planet Sex.”
According to Deadline, the high-end docuseries will dive into a wide range of sex-based topics from relationships and pornography to sexual identity and sex appeal. Throughout the series, Delevingne will help viewers get a first-hand look at research in world-leading sex labs while journeying into communities where gender and sexuality are viewed much differently than the mainstream often expects.
The genderfluid actor, singer, model, and designer identifies as pansexual, making her a fantastic choice for a show that intends to tackle the idea of sexuality and relationships from all different angles.
Delevingne has been quite candid about her sexual identity and preferences over the years, sharing more about her private life than usual after splitting with fellow actress and girlfriend of nearly two years, Ashley Benson.
“I feel different all the time. Some days, I feel more womanly. Some days, I feel more like a man,” she explained to Variety before delving into her romantic preferences. “I always will remain, I think, pansexual. However one defines themselves, whether it’s ‘they’ or ‘he’ or ‘she,’ I fall in love with the person — and that’s that.”
“Planet Sex” began filming in early 2020 before being put on pause for a few months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but production has since kicked back up again. There’s no premiere date confirmed as of yet, but we’re hoping to get the chance to blast off into the unknown with Delevingne before the year is through.
